Isuzu has developed this engine in collaboration with Toyota and it is a four cylinder engine, with 2.8 liters displacement.

The green car Isuzu engines provide power of 94 p.s. and comply with the Euro 2 standards. The company has initially planned to manufacture these engines for the heavy and large buses and then slowly introduce these engines to the small size trucks also. To incorporate the small car segment also a new improved turbo diesel engine is being thought off. This engine is about 30% smaller than the conventional diesel engines. As is claimed by the company the engine is 30 % more efficient than most other diesel engines from Isuzu and similar companies. Thus the cars which have these engines can be rightfully termed as green cars by Isuzu.
